LMFAO
Calling their breakout single ‘Party Rock Anthem’ turned out to be an accurate prediction for this Los Angeles-based dance-music duo: The track was number one on the U.K. charts for weeks, and topped the charts in 11 other countries, including the U.S., France, Germany, and Ireland. LMFAO, formed in 2006, released their first album, Party Rock, in 2009, and it earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album. The follow-up, Sorry for Party Rocking, was released in 2011.
The two members of LMFAO go by the names Redfoo (Stefan Gordy) and SkyBlu (Skyler Gordy)—they’re uncle and nephew, the son and grandson respectively of Motown mogul Berry Gordy—and their music pays tribute to, yes, partying and rocking.
